Walk and Roll
After finally being able to gather together again for activities, our Residents weren’t going to let yesterday’s rainy weather stop them from enjoying their scheduled “walk and roll” get-together. Before the isolation of the pandemic, this activity was a regular occurrence around our Home. Most weeks a group would gather outside to either walk or roll along in wheelchairs – all are welcome to come. It’s a nice time to socialize, get some fresh air, and listen to some nice music. The special earphones make it easier to hear the music without the outer distractions – perfect for our hearing-impaired residents.
Everyone was thrilled to hear that this favorite activity was starting up again, and so right after breakfast on Tuesday, many showed up, put on headphones that were filled with upbeat music, and went for a stroll through the hallways and main mall area of our home. The walk and roll had to be moved inside, but the lack of sunshine didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit. It was great fun to see the Residents enjoying themselves so much.
