A Wish Come True
You’ve probably heard of the Make A Wish Foundation – they grant wishes to children with critical illnesses. Many kids who are recipients of the program choose a trip or something fun they’ve always wanted to do, which is great, and totally understandable. But 8-year-old “Wish Kid” Elaina’s wish was different – it was to give back and help people in Kansas City.
She chose 15 charities, (one was us!) and last week Make A Wish took her and her family to each one to deliver donations of things they needed. Elaina arrived here in the afternoon, one of the last stops of the day. It was so nice to meet this sweet, generous little girl. The Residents and Little Sisters were waiting for her with handmade signs when she arrived in a limo, followed by a truck with a reclining lift chair for our Residents inside! It was hard to tell who was more excited by her visit – her or us!
Everyone was so touched by her thoughtfulness and love for others. She was such a joy, it really brightened our day! We wish Elaina all the best, and pray for her continued good health.
