Vaccination Day
Monday, January 11 was an exciting day here at the Jeanne Jugan Center. We got the first round of the long-awaited and highly-anticipated COVID-19 vaccine!
We partnered with Walgreen’s pharmacy, whose pharmacists came to our Home to administer the vaccine to all of the consenting Residents, employees, and Little Sisters. The process went very well, and in all, 121 people were vaccinated. Our second clinic is scheduled for February 8, where those 121 will receive their 2nd dose, and first doses will also be offered to those that missed the first clinic. Things will be finished up with the final vaccination clinic on March 8.
We are grateful to have the vaccine available to us. As you know, our Residents are at higher risk of complications from COVID-19, and we want to do everything we can to keep them as safe as possible. We are also happy that so many of our employees chose to get vaccinated. We are proud of them, and all that they do on a daily basis to keep everyone safe and to limit the spread of the virus.

Sister Jacintha signs up to get her vaccine.

Pharmacists from Walgreen’s go room-to-room to give the Residents their vaccines.
