St. Joseph’s Feast Day

  • March 28, 2016

From Celebrant to Servant

Bishop Vann Johnston, the bishop of the Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocese, was the principal celebrant as he concelebrated Mass for our Residents on March 19, the feast day of St. Joseph, the father of Jesus and the patron saint of the Little Sisters of the Poor. The altar was filled with diocesan priests who joined in the celebration and then turned to serve our Residents.

Bishop Johnston along with the priests donned white aprons and served the Residents of the Jeanne Jugan Center. It was edifying to see them interact with our Residents with such authentic warmth and ease. Imagine how they enjoyed the company and conversation! Just as St. Joseph was the provider for his family, we witnessed his great care in providing a delicious meal for our Residents.
