Happy Golden Jubilee, Sr. Agnes!
Last week, we had a joyous time at our Home. We celebrated Sr. Agnes’s Golden Jubilee. It started with a Mass of Thanksgiving in our chapel, giving thanks for her 50 years as a Little Sister of the Poor!
Our friends from Our Lady of the Presentation parish in Lee’s Summit joined us. Fr. Holder celebrated Mass, and music director James Wagner, along with several talented singers provided the beautiful music for the Mass. Mother Provincial Julie came, along with Sr. Cecilia, who knew Sr. Agnes from their days serving together in Hong Kong. Apartment Resident Singh baked the lovely cakes, and Kim, a Resident’s daughter, brought delicious Chinese food for the celebration dinner.
The day was rounded out by an uplifting performance by Grupo Folklórico Izcalli – four lovely young women came in their beautiful traditional dresses and danced to some lively Mexican music. The Residents and Little Sisters – especially Sr. Agnes – really enjoyed it.
We are grateful to all who helped make the day so special. Congratulations, Sr. Agnes, and may God bless you richly for your years of joyful service to our dear elderly.
