Fish Fry
Last Friday we were treated to a fish fry by a lovely group of people. It all started with our friend Skip. He and his friend Bob caught 300 crappie from a pond at Skip’s farm! They both said that catching them was a lot more fun than cleaning all of them!
He had volunteered at our Home in the past, so Skip’s first thought was that he wanted to share with the Residents, Little Sisters, and staff here. He called and asked if we would be interested, and of course we said yes!
On the day of the lunch, Skip showed up with his wife, Paula. With them were Bob and wife Cheri, and Cheri’s cousins Annette and Becky, who also wanted to help. The group took care of everything! They breaded and fried the fish fillets, and even brought the side dishes with them. Skip had asked Cosentino Super Market to help, and they generously donated the coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, batter, and hush puppies.
Skip and his friends were so gracious, they not only brought the fish and cooked them, during lunch they went around and visited with the Residents. It was a lovely day, and everyone ate delicious fish to their heart’s delight.

Skip visits with apartment Residents Toni and Alice.
