May is a month of celebration
The month of May is a special month with lots to celebrate; it is the month of Blessed Virgin Mary! There are the little moments when we celebrate the spring weather or the new flowers coming up, when we hear the baby birds start to chirp, and the times that we see the sunshine through the chapel windows. Then there are big parties and celebrations that last a whole week!
May at Jeanne Jugan Center has included a celebration of new members joining the Association of Jeanne Jugan (AJJ) with a luncheon, a “Ladies Spring Tea” in Kentucky Derby style, Cinco de Mayo, National Nurses Week, National Receptionist Day, May Crowning, Mother’s Day, and National Nursing Home Week that we call “Our Home Week” and celebrate for the whole week with special events and fun dress-up theme days. And last but not least, we have our monthly birthday celebrations – all before Memorial Day and the kickoff to summer!
We appreciate all of our employees, volunteers, Residents, and Sisters for their commitment to our Home, with each person being committed to the mission of service and hospitality through generosity.
“Hospitality is the welcoming of strangers, and generosity is an offer with no expectation of return.”
-Peter Block
