At the Little Sisters of the Poor – Jeanne Jugan Center we have several beautiful holy shrines that adorn our 26-acre property. Nearly all of the shrines are nestled along the walkway that winds throughout our home. Little Sisters, Residents, families, and friends find the shrines to be a calm place to pray, meditate, and find inner peace.
Our oldest shrine is that of our beloved St. Joseph – dating back to the 1800’s. The statue was at our first Kansas City home at 31st & Locust and has been with the Little Sisters ever since. With the shrines in need of “facelifts,” Suhor Industries Inc. came to our rescue and restored the shrines using great care to bring each one back to its original beauty.
We are thankful for our many friends who share in our mission to provide a Home for our elderly Residents, as we are grateful for Suhor Industries, Inc. for making it possible to have our shrines restored for all to adore.
