Ahh, ice cream. There’s nothing like it to bring out the kid in us all, and nothing like an old-fashioned ice cream social to bring everyone together and celebrate family and friends. It was also the perfect way to say goodbye to Mother Provincial Maria Christine, who left from her visit to our home on August 3rd.
Mother Maria Christine, who oversees 11 Little Sisters of the Poor homes in the mid-west and western US, makes time every year to visit each home and spend time with the Residents, employees, and Little Sisters. It’s a great opportunity to fill her in on what’s been happening in our home, and for the Little Sisters to spend some quality time in community with her.
As a special treat this year, Mother’s visit coincided with her Feast Day. Several Little Sisters from 6 different homes came to share in the celebration. The home was filled with laughter, fellowship, flowers, and Little Sisters – it was truly a glorious sight!
We wish Mother Maria Christine safe travels as she continues her visits throughout the country, and we thank God for her life of service and for the wonderful leadership she provides.
A SWEET ENDING TO A PICTURE-PERFECT VISIT
