A Lenten Tradition

  • March 28, 2018

Fish fries… Lent wouldn’t be the same without them.

For many of us, Friday evenings during Lent mean eating a fish dinner and visiting with our neighbors at the local parish or Knights of Columbus hall. It’s the same for us here at the Jeanne Jugan Center. This Lenten season has seen many a delicious Friday.

Recently, our friends, the Knights of Columbus Council 14972, invited us to a fish fry they hosted at Our Lady of Coronation parish. Quite a few residents attended, and we were touched at how welcome they made us all feel. There was a special table reserved just for us with a nice table cloth and flowers.

If that wasn’t enough, there was a basket on the dessert table asking for donations for our home, and we were presented with a nice check afterwards!

Everyone really enjoyed the night out, the delicious food, and even better fellowship. God bless the wonderful Knights and parishioners of Coronation for making us feel a part of the family!
