Sister Pauline turns 100
The weekend of December 30 was a special one here at the Jeanne Jugan Center. We celebrated our Sister Marie Pauline’s 100th birthday. The festivities started with a party with the craft volunteers on Friday. Many of them have worked with her the 30 years she has been here in Kansas City.
The next day was a full one with a special Mass, followed by dinner. Some of her family was able to be here to share the day. Her nephew and niece came in from Colombia, and several other relatives from the U.S. came as well.
The day was rounded out with some lovely entertainment that included dancers who did some beautiful traditional dances from Colombia.
We are grateful for Sister Pauline, and thank God for her 100 years – many of which have been spent serving Him and the elderly poor. Her joyous nature and humble service continue to touch many lives.
