Most of us have memories of getting lost in the moment of creating a beautiful picture – thumbing through our coloring book to find a picture we like, picking out the perfect colors, carefully staying in the lines (or not!), and then proudly displaying our work of art on a bulletin board or the family fridge. As we grow up and get older, though, many times this simple pleasure is put aside for more “important” things and obligations.
Here at the Jeanne Jugan Center, that’s not the case. Our Residents are not afraid to embrace their inner child and color to their heart’s content in our Adult Coloring get-togethers in the activities room. It’s not only relaxing, good for hand-eye coordination, and a time for socializing, but it’s just plain fun as well!
