Today we would like to introduce you to a few of our Residents – the heart of our home and the reason we are all here.
We asked them what some of their favorite things about living here are, and this is what they had to say:
Leticia likes to stay busy, and she certainly does! Her favorite thing is having the opportunity to help out around the home. She helps out in the laundry, with activities, really anywhere. If a helping hand is needed, she will be there with a smile.
Barbara said she appreciates having a roof over her head and food to eat. That is something that not everyone has. Her favorite things about living here are the happy atmosphere of the Home and the different activities that she can participate in.
Billie used to volunteer here years ago, and always said she would like to live here if she ever needed to move from her home. Her favorite thing is being around other people.
Pat lived at the Little Sisters of the Poor home in St. Louis, and came here when it closed. Her favorite thing is having a chapel here where she can go to church every day, and she also likes how peaceful it is here.
Jean and Pat both had wonderful things to say about the nurses and aides that care for them, saying they are very nice and courteous. They also like the Little Sisters very much. Jean smiled and said that her absolute favorite thing is that they let her sleep in in the mornings! And after many decades of cooking and cleaning, both ladies appreciate that someone does that for them now.
Maggie describes her home here as, “my bit of heaven. I thank God for it!” She also likes the staff, who she says are very considerate and personable.
