The first snow of the season is always something to look forward to. After the heat of summer, it’s refreshing and somehow calming to see the cool blanket of white covering everything. It’s like a gentle reminder to slow down and rest.
This year’s first snow, though, was a bit of a surprise. Before Halloween had even arrived, we had a couple of inches covering the brightly colored leaves. That October frost has long since melted, but it was nice to get an early peak at what is to come, and to be reminded of the beauty of God’s creation and all of the seasons we get to enjoy here in the Midwest.
