OK. So technically Jose and Margarita are already married, and this wedding was the Residents’ latest play and not an official ceremony, but it was loads of fun just the same.
Decked out in overalls, carrying banjos and fiddles, and sipping on cider – apple cider that is – the Jeanne Jugan Center’s LSP Players performed A Royal Hillbilly Wedding for their fellow Residents, families, and friends. This interactive play involved the audience members, who were “guests” at the wedding and the following reception where everyone was served flower cake pops. They were simply delightful!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and the opportunity to be involved in the production. The auditorium wasn’t even cleared of props yet and Residents could be heard asking director Kay Homburg-Enna, “When does rehearsal for the next play begin?”
News flash! Residents say “I do” – Hillbilly Style!
