“I am happy to be here and be of service. Thank you for your support and love for our work. I am looking forward to meeting all of you. We will continue our efforts to rejoice in the Residents and accompany them on their journey to God. Thank you, my God.”
Mother Dora
“It makes me feel good to help keep the Residents looking good. It makes them feel good, too. I think it’s wonderful that the sisters make these services available to all the Residents at no charge.”

“Virginia and I have both been volunteering with the Little Sisters since the 1970’s – first in the Home at 53rd and Highland, and now at their current location. I get so much out of volunteering! It makes me feel good to see the Residents’ faces light up when I greet them.”

“I came to the Jeanne Jugan Center after suffering a stroke. The Little Sisters and staff really spoil me! They helped me recover and return to my duties at St. Therese Parish and Harvesters. I now live in the Home. One of my favorite things about living here is having three meals a day prepared for me. After cooking for myself for most of 54 years as a priest, that is a real treat! I am also impressed that the little Sisters serve all the Residents.”
Fr. Pat Tobin, Resident
“One thing I like about living at Jeanne Jugan Center is that I can go to church [in the Home’s chapel] and don’t have to worry about finding a way to get there. Everything is right here. I also like that everyone here is so good to me. God has blessed me with a lot of friends.”
Doris Boggs, Resident
“I am so thankful to be starting a new phase in my life here. It will be exciting and rewarding. Words cannot begin to convey my innermost feelings about my new home. The beauty and serenity here are so overwhelming, makes my heart sing and my eyes fill up with joyful tears. Everyone is wonderful here. I go to bed smiling, looking forward to each new day. I knew in my heart that God had one more change in life for me, and this is it.”
Sondra Williams, Apartment Resident
“Little Sisters of the Poor is a great community. We find that working with the Sisters and the Residents is very interesting and rewarding. We are very blessed to be volunteers and members of the Association of Jeanne Jugan.”
