Our very own LSP Players, for outstanding actors and actresses in a comedy!
The LSP Players, made up of Residents of Jeanne Jugan Center, have done it again. Their play, “Welcome to Bellywood, the Late Bloomer Awards,” (a spoof on the Academy Awards) was another big hit.
A very funny show, indeed, but also very touching. It was dedicated to former Resident and actress-extraordinaire, Audrey Gorman (pictured here at a St. Patrick’s Day party). Audrey, who passed away in July of 2010 at Jeanne Jugan Center, was always very involved in the plays and was an inspiration to all the other cast members. They say she used to jokingly ask when they were going to Hollywood. The group didn’t quite make it there, but Bellywood is the next best thing!
Everyone enjoyed the play and the fond memories of Audrey very much. It was also a nice reminder for us to take time and share memories of the many wonderful Residents who have enriched our lives so much over the years. Our Mother Foundress St. Jeanne Jugan often said, “What happiness for us, to be a Little Sister of the Poor!” We couldn’t agree more.
