Artist-in-Residence

  • July 12, 2019
Featured Artist: Stephanie Walsh

Stephanie Walsh, a Resident of Jeanne Jugan Center, is not a person to sit idly for long. She stays busy in lots of ways.  But even when she sits down, her hands stay busy with needlework or coloring. Currently, she has about three dozen pillowcases in progress, towers of tea towels, and pages of pictures to color.

In her brief answers to being interviewed as “Featured Artist”, she describes her enjoyment of making pillowcases: she says it is relaxing, and tells of how excited the colors make her – she carries a bag of many rainbows, filled with embroidery thread of all colors. Stephanie has a positive, grateful, colorful outlook on her art and life.

“Creativity doesn’t wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones.” – Bruce Garrabrandt
